RPM stands for "Radial Pressure ManagementTM". Trick's RPM snare drum has a series of "intake and exhaust" ports strategically machined around the radius of the drum shell. The RPM system allows the drum to function more efficiently by expelling and replacing the air charge evenly around and throughout the shell, as opposed to the internal pressure trying to get in and out of the same hole(s) at the same time as with conventional drums. The RPM system will expand the drums tuning range while increasing its sensitivity. Trick RPM snares are manufactured from one ply of aircraft grade aluminum alloy with machined tuning lugs, bearing edges and snare beds. The counter hoops are 2.3mm steel.
