Acrylic shells offer a brighter, louder voice in comparison to maple shell drums. They have an excellent crack with a medium-warm resonance. Spaun lugs were designed to be small yet sturdy, and they attach to the shell with a single screw to insure minmal contact and maximum resonance of each drum. The solid brass lug is a 2 piece design. It consists of a solid "body" and a threaded "insert". Standard drum heads are Evans clear G2 batter on toms and G1 clear resonant. The bass drum has the EMAD batter head and an EQ3 resonant logo head.
